Integrated Information Technology Liaison


JOB SUMMARY:

The Integrated Information Technology Liaison (IITL) is a 35 hour; full time exempt position with Launch of Philadelphia (Communities In Schools of Philadelphia). The IITL is a position based at The School District of Philadelphia-440 N. Broad St. under the direct supervision of the Urban Technology Project Director. This position is aligned within the Workforce & School Support Services Division at Launch of Philadelphia (Communities In Schools of Philadelphia(CISP).


JOB PURPOSE:

The IITL will support WIOA pre-apprentices within the Urban Technology Project to ensure their successful completion of the AmeriCorps service program. The liaison will provide direct case management, academic and support services to WIOA pre-apprentices. The I.T. Pre-apprenticeship is designed to prepare young adults for careers in the technology field. The IITL will help apprentices navigate personal challenges that may derail their success in the program.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Support with recruitment and retention of pre-apprentice
  • Develop case management/individualized service/graduation plan for every pre-apprentices
  • Develop and maintain peer mentoring program
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation for each pre-apprentices file via all required databases
  • Complete all required reports for WIOA, School District of Philadelphia (SDP), and Philadelphia Works as per contractual agreement
  • Coordinate all WIOA pre-apprentices and services within the school building(s)
  • Support with the expansion of employer partnerships
  • Provide social service referrals, follow‑up, outcomes, and updates to pre-apprentice’s profiles
  • Conduct workshops and presentations, including identifying and scheduling outside presenters (topics include: health and nutrition, family planning, parenting skills, substance abuse prevention, violence prevention, stress management, preparing pre-apprentices for life post pre-apprentices)
  • Track members progress in tech classes, provide coaching and tips to enhance study skills
  • Assist with summer internship placements and follow-up
  • Conduct small group and individual counseling sessions
  • Develop peer support groups
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience working with opportunity youth and programs operating in urban schools
  • Experience in crisis intervention and providing support for mental health
  • Three – five year of counseling experience
  • Five years providing direct service support to young adults
  • Demonstrated community connections and relevant knowledge of community issues
  • Knowledge of the County Assistance Programs
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent team player, flexible, “can do” attitude
  • Effectively utilize community resources
  • Familiarity with basic Mac and PC hardware and basic software applications


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Social Work, Education, Social Service, Human Service or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Three – Five years of experience in Social Work or Counseling
