Position Summary

Equity Forward, a project of the Hopewell Fund, seeks a Research Associate to gather and package information for compelling research-driven campaigns supporting reproductive health access.


The Research Associate will be an integral member of the project’s core team. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to think strategically, incredible attention to detail, and strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. A flexible personality, sense of humor, and positive attitude are also essential.


This position is based in the Financial District in New York. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.


Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Conducting news, Internet and database research
  • Assisting with strategic planning of research projects
  • Collecting and analyzing public records
  • Writing detailed research reports
  • Performing other duties, as assigned


Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • 1-3 years of work experience
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Smart political judgment and discerning eye
  • Ability to work independently and juggle competing priorities and strict deadlines
  • Proven track record of being a self-starter
  • Ability to work quickly
  • Passion for, and commitment to, reproductive health, rights and justice

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Professional research experience in a similar position as an investigator, political advocacy researcher, campaign researcher, or government employee
  • Experience analyzing financial reports and disclosures
  • Ability to create infographics 
  • Ability to travel
