This dynamic new position at Classic Stage Company balances between the box office and the marketing department as the company places the connection to its audience and increased audience development as a priority for the future.

We are looking for a proactive problem solver who understands the importance of innovation and quick thinking when it comes to welcoming new audience members to the theater and bolstering loyalty for returning audiences. This will be an incredibly fast-paced role that requires strategic multi-tasking and the ability to delegate and prioritize responsibilities. While there will be large components of traditional box office-related duties undertaken by this position, we are seeking someone who can go above and beyond the day-to-day tasks of the box office and take CSC audience relations to the next level!

While direct experience in a similar position is not necessary, some box office or customer-service facing management would be welcome! This is a full-time position and requires nighttime and weekend hours, primarily when shows are in production.

Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:

General Box Office

  • Manage all show-related ticketing (show and package builds, day-to-day sales)
  • Perform at-performance window duties
  • Report on daily, weekly, and seasonal ticket sales and other box office treasury tasks
  • Provide general customer service, as needed (phones, in-person, etc.)
  • Maintain command of our CRM ticketing system and database


Audience Development

  • Oversee membership programs and their growth
  • Coordinate with marketing team on membership acquisition and retention Enhance loyalty operations and initiatives
  • Actively work with marketing team on broadening of new audiences Lead expansion of community and neighborhood outreach
  • Create and implement group sales plans per season and per production Manage and create special events to develop audience and member relations


Access

  • Coordinate with third party vendors, group leaders, and other parties regarding lower-price ticketing initiatives
  • Manage and revitalize access programs intended to grow new audiences
  • Bolster plans and customer service model for audience members with disabilities


Front of House

  • Oversee box office sub position(s)
  • Work with House Manager and Ushers to perfect the audience experience at CSC
  • Per-performance coordination with Front of House team, production team, and CSC administrative staff


Temporary responsibilities upon reopening of the theater will include:

  • Interim supervision of the rebooking process for upcoming productions
  • Strategic thinking pertaining to pandemic-related reopening plans and policy relating to audience hospitality
  • Audience-related data compilation and organization


This is an exempt, full time position with an annual salary of $65,000 plus health insurance (medical, dental, vision). The intended starting date for this position is August 2, 2021.
