Job Title: Director of Tutorial & Assessment

Supervisor: Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Start Date: July

Hours: Monday-Friday; ( LMS) 8:15am- 4:45pm; (US) 8:45am- 5:15pm

 

Description: The Director of Tutorial & Assessment serves as the leader of the school’s in house academic support. The Director of Tutorial sets, monitors, and evaluates the vision and strategy for Codman’s comprehensive one-on-one and small group tutorial program which aims at improving students’ academic skills through strategic planning and leveraging appropriate data and assessment tools.

 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

 

Tutorial Program Management

In collaboration with the Tutorial Coordinator, set up the vision and basic parameters of the Tutorial program: who, what, where, when, why

Recruit and onboard tutors

Lead the hiring process for tutors, from the initial interviews to onboarding, for both work study and Codman tutors

Supports Tutorial Coordinator in designing and facilitating onboarding and orientation for tutors

Manage Tutorial program

Recruit, hire, and train tutors

Help program coordinator meet their responsibilities and hold them accountable

Ensure that tutors are onboarded through the appropriate sources

Serve as on-site program lead

Design and administer program evaluation trimesterly

Collaborate with Tutorial Coordinator to make appropriate strategic adjustments to the tutorial program

Lead curriculum development and implementation

Partners with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to ensure alignment with Codman instructional priorities

Designs personalized learning for skill and grade level needs

Support tutors in executing and adjusting curriculum in response to student needs

Provide Tutorial curriculum and professional development to lead tutors and tutors

Support students to achieve high levels of academic growth

Creates student profiles to help teachers, families and students understand student progress through tutorial program

Support the Tutorial Coordinator in maintaining regular tutor and student attendance according to program requirements

Ensure creation and dissemination of regular progress reports to teachers and families

Supervision of tutorial team (Tutorial Coordinator, tutors)

Collaborate with Codman teachers and administrators, especially those who share students to identify areas of growth for students as a means of aligning the Tutorial program to meet needs

 

Assessment Support

Lead, with the support of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Data and Analytics Manager, on logistics and management of key assessments that inform tutorial decisions (MCAS, Achievement Network Interim Assessments)

Collaborate in making an assessment calendar that includes data cycles

Coordinate back-end logistics for assessment management

Disseminate data from pertinent assessments that informs tutorial interventions to appropriate groups and stakeholders

Compile student tutorial performance data and communicate it to students, parents and colleagues
