Job Summary

The Manager of Finance & Administration will be a hands-on manager who will

partner with the Executive Director. The manager will lead in the development,

organization and implementation of financial and human resource management

systems for a small but important and growing local non-profit. Since 1974, The

Youth Council has supported thousands of youth and families in Greater Nashua,

specializing in programs centered on youth guidance and counseling. We offer

counseling, student assistance, accountable suspension, prevention, education

and court diversion. This position will allow flexibility for some remote work.


Responsibilities

Finance

· Implement a robust financial and contracts management reporting system.

· Update and implement all necessary business and accounting practices, improving the organization’s overall policy and procedures.

· Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in collaboration with the Executive Director.

· Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.

· Prepare, analyze and present monthly financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.

· Manage weekly payroll.

· Oversee all project/program and grants accounting and financial reporting.

· Coordinate and lead the annual audit process and 990 preparation.

Human Resources and Administration

· Review, revise organize and create as needed all human resource policies and procedures.

· Review, negotiate and renew annually all employee benefits.

· Manage and track all time off.

· Manage annual staff evaluations.

· Ensure employee files are up to date with accurate information, including job descriptions.

· Be a resource to staff with human resource concerns.

· Manage all staff recruitment, hiring, onboarding, evaluation and exit.

· Educate employees regarding staff policies and procedures.

· Other responsibilities as delegated by the Executive Director.


Required Skills and Qualifications

· Minimum of a BA in finance or accounting, ideally an MBA/CPA, or related degree.

· At least 5 -7 years of overall professional experience; ideal 5-plus years of broad financial and operations management experience.

· A track record in grants management.

· Strong knowledge of Quickbooks and Microsoft Office.

· A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

· A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment.

· Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of The Youth Council.
