General Summary: This position involves developing and maintaining systems to support certification programs. Applies policies, procedures, and requirements for Administrators (Principal, Program Administrator, and Superintendent) and ESAs (School Counselor) certification. Works with administrator and ESA students from application to completion of certificate and/or degree.


Job Description:

  • Tracks the progress of graduate candidates in School Counselor, Program Administrator, Principal, and Superintendent certification programs, from acceptance to completion of program. This includes but is not limited to certification coursework and certification requirements, keeping files up to date.
  • Produces and sends out admissions materials for administrator and ESA applicants.
  • Monitors degree requirements for candidates in the administrator and ESA programs.
  • Implements processes and procedures for the Certification Office to keep in compliance with federal and state regulations and requirements for administrator and ESA programs
  • Coordinates program admission, orientation, and end of the year events as necessary.
  • Tracks data/information related to programs as required for certification.
  • Certifies administrator and ESA program completers. This includes but is not limited to verifying student completion data to OSPI, closing out and archiving files, keeping verification lists up-to-date, and communicating with students regarding the status of their certification.
  • Represent the School of Education at various meetings, webinars, class presentations, and conferences.
  • Provides support to program chairs to operate the Professional Educator Advisory Board meetings regarding logistics and reporting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 1 year of office experience required. Two to three years of experience in higher education, including skill with a wide array of technologies, organizing events, maintaining program documents, and facilitating communication and experience working with graduate students is preferred.
  • Friendly, industrious, resilient, strong attention to detail, effective working alone and in a team, accurate data entry, clear communication skills, teachable attitude.  
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, ability to comprehend technical writing.
  • Knowledge of state certification requirements a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Administrative Banner and Slate, a plus.


Additional Information:

Position will remain open until filled.


Salary: $33,000 annually. This is a full time 11 month position with part of July and August off.
