Green Dot Public Schools California is a non-profit network of public charter schools helping to transform the public education system so that ALL students graduate prepared for college, leadership, and life. We have three California Distinguished schools and 3 California Gold Ribbon schools, and several of our schools have been recipients of the CORE Districts’ Academic Growth Awards, which honor schools having the greatest impact on student achievement. Additionally, Green Dot’s first turnaround, Alain LeRoy Locke College Preparatory Academy, was named Charter School of the Year by the California Charter Schools Association in 2019.


 OPPORTUNITY

As the Procurement Manager, you are responsible for developing and implementing GDPSC’s procurement strategy. The procurement manager will work closely with the Director of Operations to review current procurement policies and develop new strategies to overhaul GDPSC’s procurement procedures. The procurement manager will also work with schools and department heads to negotiate contracts with vendors and to manage the organization’s Request for Proposal process. The procurement manager will be hyper focused on codifying procurement processes, implementing them across the organization and training current and new employees. The Procurement Manager will be a thoughtful collaborator who is

mission-oriented, proactive, data-driven, has a high-level of personal accountability and can balance competing priorities at once, while bringing joy to the work.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


Procurement Responsibilities

> Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective

> Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors

> Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms

> Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility

> Supporting purchasing for home office departments and school sites

> Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements

> Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs

> Sourcing, overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods

> Managing annual Request for Proposal process

> Preparing and delivering procurement reports and analysis


Contract Management Responsibilities

> Liaising with GDPSC department heads to analyze and determine a comprehensive contract strategy

> Working with legal counsel to establish and maintain standardized language and guidelines for contracts

> Sharing and clarifying contract processes, conditions and details with management, business partners and employees

> Reviewing contracts, verifying accuracy, and resolving discrepancies in line with GDPSC’s policies and guidelines

> Ensuring relevant documentation accompany contracts and maintaining digital and hard copies of relevant documentation

> Liaising between parties regarding contract development, and negotiations regarding terms and conditions, and drafting and revising changes as required

> Identifying potential risks contract changes may pose to company

 

QUALIFICATIONS

As an ideal candidate, you will be/have:

 > have 4-6 minimum years of work experience

> have a Bachelor’s degree (required)

> have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities

> have an effective teamwork orientation with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with multiple constituencies, including leadership, school leaders and staff, and contractors

> be hardworking, motivated and self-directed; able to think critically and anticipate needs of customers

> be comfortable with ambiguity and able to adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

> be able to develop and implement internal systems and processes to increase effectiveness

> have a demonstrated initiative, leadership, and tenacity

> have a demonstrated passion for improving K-12 public education

> be dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve

> be able to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer

> have a valid drivers license

Salary

USD 75,000 - USD 85,000The salary range for this position begins at $75,000 - $85,000, based on experience. We are also offering a one-time $5000 signing bonus for new hires, subject to change.
