ABOUT THE POSITION: The AmeriCorps member will provide direct services in the Client Services Office (CSO) including: savings accounts, mail services, reduced fare bus passes, and support with payee/housing retention case management. The AmeriCorps member will also provide Information and Referral to services such as mental health and/or chemical dependency treatment, food, shelter, hygiene, clean clothes and transportation. The AmeriCorps member will produce 3 Financial Literacy courses, recruit, train and manage volunteers, and help transition vulnerable clients into safe and affordable housing. AmeriCorps members will provide services while maintaining professional boundaries.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: For many homeless adults, the Client Services Office is their first contact with our comprehensive service network. We are a low-to-no barrier program offering mail services, savings accounts, reduced-fare ORCA LIFT cards, financial literacy courses, information and referral services, and payee/housing retention case management. Men and women who are mentally ill and/or chemically-dependent, elderly, medically compromised, physically or developmentally disabled are our priority. During the day, the Client Services Office becomes a connection for people to seek refuge from the elements and access Information and Referral to services such as, mental health providers, chemical dependency providers, food, shelter, hygiene services, clean clothes and transportation.

LOCATION: Compass Headquarters in Pioneer Square

REPORTS TO: Program Manager

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Employed with AmeriCorps (stipend/benefits) with location placement at Compass

LENGTH OF TERM: September 2018 - July 2019

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm with staff meetings monthly
