RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role of the Child Nutrition Coordinator is to coordinate all aspects of the early childhood education food program. The coordinator will be a member of the Health Equity team and a strong collaborator in our Nourish the Community Initiative. The ideal candidate will be inspired by and fully committed to Adelante Mujeres' vision and mission.

• Coordinate all aspects of the Child Nutrition Food Service Program.

• Assess and plan menus, ingredient records, supply purchases, develop new recipes, and other kitchen needs in collaboration with the lead cook.

• Lead all aspects of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) program, compliance, and reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with other agencies such as OSHA, Oregon Child Care Center (OCC), Washington County Health Department, and other regulatory agencies.

• Collaborate with other program leads in Early Childhood Education, Shared Use Commercial Kitchen, and Farm Business programs along with the Finance Department to meet the nutritional needs of students.

• Supervise kitchen staff, coordinate scheduling, cover duties when the cooks are absent and plan professional development training and in-service days.

• Coordinate program evaluation that captures family and child nutritional needs, honors cultural traditions and the demands of a fast-paced kitchen.

• Coordinate and lead nutrition activities within other Adelante Mujeres programs.

• Assist with supervision of interns and volunteers when applicable. ▪ Develop and maintain competency in Adelante's mission, work, and needs through regular exposure to Adelante's activities, clients, and staff.

▪ Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities

• Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish- strong written and oral skills; culturally proficient

• An associates degree or comparable experience in nutrition, health, food science, or related field

• Four years of experience in program management

• Two years of experience in supervision

• Strong understanding of purchasing, budgeting, and bookkeeping

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to details

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Strong understanding of online technology platforms such as MS TEAMS, MS SharePoint, Zoom, Facebook, Canva, and Google Hangouts

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Diplomatic communicator, team player, critical thinker, problem solver

• Highly customer service-oriented; able to enforce rules assertively and respectfully as needed

• Passionate about nutrition, health equity, education, social justice, diversity, and women's empowerment

• Demonstrated experience working with and motivating Latinx families

The ideal candidate will also:

• Complete and pass a Criminal Background Check

• Possess current driver's license and auto insurance coverage

• Obtain a Food Handlers Permit

• Ability to work evening and weekend hours; ability to travel to off-site venues for meetings, events, and professional development is required

SALARY & BENEFITS:

• Salary range: $40,000-$43,000 depending on qualifications

• Full-Time Exempt position

• Competitive compensation package including health, vision, dental, short-term and long-term disability, 401K pension plan, life insurance, professional development opportunities, paid holidays (11.5 days annually), paid leave of absence, sick days (up to 12 days annually), and vacation per year (20 days years one through five, 25 days after five years)
