Social Worker, Entertainment Assistance Program

The Actors Fund, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a dynamic Social Worker to facilitate clinical support groups and provide individual short-term counseling to community members. This is a one year full-time position, but we are open to exploring a part-time work schedule (21-27 hours/week). This is currently a remote position with the expectation of an eventual return to The Fund’s Times Square office.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

The impact of Covid-19 on the work force has had a significant impact on the performing arts and entertainment community. Loss of work, purpose and income has left many isolated and with limited support. Through a 1 year grant this position will focus on developing and facilitating clinical support groups and short-term counseling to our Member Assistance Program contracts. Integrating evidence based practices you will create curriculum that meets the unique needs of each contract. In addition, you will be responsible for mental health resource development. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

• MSW from an accredited School of Social Work. 
• State Licensure required, LCSW preferred.
• 3-5 years’ experience facilitating support groups and individual clinical counseling.
• Training in and/or experience in clinical work that integrates stress reduction modalities and evidence-based practices.
• Strong assessment and crisis intervention skills with the ability to engage a wide range of presentations is needed.
• Flexibility and ability to establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with others both internally and externally to the organization.
• Available to conduct groups, during the evenings as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with the entertainment community is helpful.
