Position Overview

 The SEED Foundation seeks a College Success Data Analyst to be primarily responsible for collecting, analyzing, and using internal and external college readiness, transition, persistence, and graduation data. This person will also assess additional critical indicators associated with postsecondary progression. The Analyst will prepare and manage key data and reports associated with SEED’s Network Success Measures, College Success Measures, College Data Trackers, College Success Dashboard, College Matching, and student information systems (CoPilot™, Salesforce™, Naviance™). This person must have strong quantitative skills and experience with assessing and visualizing data, while enhancing existing systems and creating new ones. The Analyst will be a part of The SEED Foundation’s College Transition & Success team.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage college data associated with success measures (college application, college matching, college acceptance, college selection, college enrollment, college persistence, college completion) for SEED students and graduates.
  • Manage and monitor SEED college matching data and
  • Support and monitor SEED’s college matching tier system data (coding, research, collection, analysis, reporting).
  • Research and assess local, regional, and national postsecondary comparison data.
  • Lead and support college data discussions and professional development with SEED network stakeholders.
  • Establish systems and practices the support a data-driven culture and the systematization of best practices.
  • Prepare college data reports and dashboards for internal and external audiences (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually).


Essential Experience, Skills, and Competencies

Ideal candidates are expected to have/be:

  • A commitment to the mission of SEED and our core values of: COMPASSION, GRATITUDE, GROWTH, INTEGRITY, PERSEVERANCE, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY
  • Minimally a bachelor’s degree in education or a social science,  master’s degree in education or a social science field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of full-time experience in an education, research, or non-profit setting.
  • Work, intern or volunteer experience in schools, school districts, school networks, and/or charter networks--especially those serving underrepresented students.
  • Advanced data experience in the following areas:
  • Analyzing data and creating data visualizations in Excel, Google Sheets, Google Data Studio.
  • Data analytics software (R, SPSS, Stata, Open Refine, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Excel (pivot tables, connecting spreadsheets, formulas).
  • Database/student information systems management.
  • Strong analytical writing, communication, and presentation skills required.
  • Strong relationship management skills required; must be able to work independently, in a dynamic, fast paced setting under tight deadlines.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to take ownership and initiative to independently problem solve.
  • Proactive, reflective and engage in backwards-planning to manage own workload.
  • Willing to ask questions, adept in engaging in difficult conversations and be comfortable engaging with senior organizational leaders.
  • Self-directed and patient in workflow; must be comfortable with both macro and micro thinking.
  • Flexible and comfortable with change, both in individual and SEED network projects.
  • Comfortable with learning how to use additional educational technology platforms.
  • Willing to travel to SEED Schools and external meetings.
