POSITION SUMMARY
Transgender Law Center seeks a dynamic Communications Manager or Communications Organizer looking to work at the heart of a movement that employs a variety of community-driven strategies to keep transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) people alive, thriving, and fighting for liberation. TLC has doubled in budget, size, and reach in the past few years, and in that time scaled up our communications work to meet organizational and movement needs.

The ideal candidate enjoys developing communications strategies and implementing them, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) liberation and racial justice. Flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a nuanced understanding of TGNC communities – with a commitment to centering Black and indigenous communities of color – will be key for success in this role.
This role requires skill and experience in crafting messaging and communications strategies with trans leaders of color, people living with HIV, disabled communities, migrant leaders, Southerners, youth, and elders. However, TLC is invested in providing the ideal candidate the resources, professional development opportunities, and mentorship to develop the communications skills necessary to grow and thrive in this position if they have equivalent experience in nonprofit or grassroots advocacy.
