Accountant

The Accountant will perform general accounting tasks and analysis, while holding key responsibility for financial reports related to treasury and cash management. The incumbent ensures the adequacy of internal controls within his/her area of responsibility and makes recommendations on any required adjustments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for the preparation, reporting, and analysis of accounting statements, cash flow, and investment activities
• Provide oversight for and back-up the Accounts Payable function
• Manage cash flow, analyze financial reports, research discrepancies and fluctuations, and provide explanations for management reporting
• Prepare schedules, journal entries, and account reconciliations related to month-end and year-end closing processes
• Perform ad hoc reviews and analysis, as needed
• Perform other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience with General Ledger accounting and cash management
• Highly analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize under pressure and meet deadlines in a complex, multi-tasking environment
• Must have strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• The ideal candidate will be a flexible and energetic team player with excellent work ethic and a solid grasp of internal and external financial reporting and regulations
• Familiarity with non-profit accounting is a plus
