Position Overview

The Managing Director, Business Information reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the Chief Program Officer, Chief Development Officer and Chief Financial Officer and their designees to connect program and development data across the organization with the goal of providing timely and accurate financial and operational data, and improving performance, communication, grantmaking and fundraising at Robin Hood.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Oversee Salesforce platform at Robin Hood

o  Continue to customize Salesforce to meet Robin Hood’s evolving business needs

o  Analyze the current Salesforce infrastructure and scope out the next level of information technology needed to support the growth of specific programs, analyses, and the organization overall

o  Create an analytics platform that sits on top of Salesforce to facilitate the reporting and creation of graphical materials that distill data into information that is consumable by staff, board and the public

o  Manage Salesforce integration with other applications

·        Manage comprehensive data reporting processes at Robin Hood

o  Create organization-wide business rules that will facilitate data reporting across the organization.

o  Conduct research and data analysis to inform business decisions across the organization;

o  Work with team leadership across departments to construct forecasts and performance metrics

o  Adapt data analysis and output to support strategic tentpoles identified in the strategic planning process

·        Work in partnership with Robin Hood departments to ensure proper data management and reporting

o  Work with technology team to ensure best practice around permissions, security, compliance, and audits

o  Work with Finance staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial data and financial reporting

o  Work with Finance staff to facilitate the integration of Salesforce and Intacct

o  Work with Program team to complete quarterly grant documents, grant contracts

o  Analyze program data and outside data sources to create the most compelling picture of the state of poverty in partnership with the Program team

o  Work with development team to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of board reporting, fundraising forecasting, event support, and live event pledging 

o  Increase donor segmentation to enable the targeting of audiences most likely to respond to specific program data

The Managing Director, Business Information will report to the Chief Operating Officer.


·        Extensive Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience at a large non-profit organization

·        Demonstrated ability to provide support and coaching to peers, subordinates, and supervisors

·        Facilitation and problem-solving skills

·        10-15 years of relevant, full-time working experience

·        Entrepreneurial spirit and a capacity to work within a team

·        Embraces ambiguity and has a willingness to “roll up their sleeves” 

·        High degree of self-awareness, humility, and diplomacy

·        Sense of humor and skillful listener
