The Corporate Engagement Manager is responsible for a private sector stewardship and fundraising portfolio. The role is part of a seasoned development team and reports to the Corporate Engagement Director. This position will manage a group of current and prospective corporate partners with a focus on building relationships through ongoing stewardship and engagement opportunities, leading to investment in the work and mission of Mary’s Place. This individual has experience building and procuring high-touch, long-term fundraising opportunities with corporate and other funders, and demonstrated success soliciting and securing support.

This is a full-time, exempt position. The schedule for this position is during normal business hours; periodic evening and weekend hours may be required. The annual salary range for this position is $59,000 - $63,000 DOE.


The Corporate Engagement Manager reports to the Corporate Engagement Director. This position does not supervise other staff.


Key Responsibilities

· Build a pipeline of corporate support by identifying, researching and soliciting local, regional and national private sector leads, in order to achieve department and team revenue goals

· Develop a plan and timeline for relationship development, solicitation, and implementation, including identifying new creative opportunities to add value to the partnership when possible

• Work with Corporate Engagement Director and Corporate Volunteer Manager to identify gaps and opportunities for deeper partnership with corporations and businesses

• Work across internal teams to manage pro-bono and in-kind project proposals and requests

· Actively manage portfolio of 100-150 corporations to solicit, engage, steward, and renew partnerships

• Identify and build strong relationships with primary contacts 

• Conduct meetings, prepare materials and proposals, make the solicitation, and complete necessary follow-up to advance the conversation and secure support

• Ensure sponsorships are fulfilled appropriately, and that all sponsors and corporate partners are appropriately recognized and stewarded

• Share partnership impact and additional engagement opportunities in order to set up successful partner renewal

• Respond to unassigned new external inquiries and engagement opportunities from corporate partners

• Execute timely gratitude to all unsolicited/unassigned Corporate gifts of $500+, using the opportunity to steward relationships and qualify for future support

· Solicit and secure corporate partnerships for key events and campaigns (including the dream BIG luncheon, SHINE Gala, and the No Child Sleeps Outside year-end annual fundraising campaign), and supporting campaign committees as needed

· Coordinate with the Grants team on soliciting and writing corporate foundation proposals, solicitation materials, and impact reports, as related to assigned or unassigned partners

· Actively utilize RE/NXT database to maintain contact and activity records and reports, manage workflow, coordinate strategy, and identify opportunities

· Work closely with Chief Development Officer and Corporate Engagement Director to engage senior leadership, Committee, and Board members to expand new partner solicitations and strengthen existing relationships through prospect lists and outreach

· Be accountable to mutually agreed upon goals, strategies and metrics; participate in ongoing and regular assessment of progress toward goals

· Represent Mary’s Place at external corporate and community events, and support the Development team with other projects as needed


Requirements

Skills/Qualifications Required 

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum of three years of fundraising experience, with at least one year focused on corporate giving and relationships

· Proven track record in securing significant corporate sponsorships and contributions, and renewing and increasing partner investment over time

· Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact and communicate clearly and effectively with both domestic and international audiences and colleagues. Proven ability to rapidly draft clear, concise, and culturally aware business correspondence

· Working knowledge of marketing and public relations and their implications for and relationship to philanthropy

· Ability to think strategically, multi-task, prioritize, respond promptly, and meet deadlines and performance goals 

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor database software (experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT software a plus)

· Highly motivated, resourceful, flexible, and possesses a positive attitude and sense of humor

· Ability to interact effectively with co-workers and volunteers of all levels, as well as with representatives of other organizations and institutions

· Exhibits compassion and empathy; works well with men, women and children from all ethnic, social, economic and sexual orientation backgrounds

· Must have valid driver’s license, reliable access to a car, and proof of car insurance

  

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· Ability to converse with and listen to people in many different settings

· Ability to use a computer and telephone, as well as other standard office equipment

· Frequently required to stand, walk, use fingers, hands and arms

· Ability to occasionally push, pull, lift and/or carry supplies up to 25 pounds

· Work takes place in a social services environment where long periods of sitting, working on a computer, walking to various work areas, going up and down stairs, and standing are required

· Travel to program sites and meetings outside the site and around the county are necessary

· Ability to work in an environment where there may be animals present, including dogs

  • 403(b) plan with a 50% employer match on the first 6% employee contribution. Eligible to participate upon hire; eligible for the match after first year of employment. 
  • Unlimited use ORCA pass for a small deduction per pay period 
  • 10 days paid time off (PTO) each calendar year (accrued by pay period) 
  • 10 days of sick time each calendar year (accrued by pay period)
