Founded in 1842, the New York Philharmonic is the oldest symphony orchestra in the United States, and one of the oldest in the world. Each season the Philharmonic connects with up to 50 million music lovers through live concerts in New York City and on its worldwide tours and residencies as well as with its digital recording series; international broadcasts on television, radio, and online; and as a resource through its varied education programs and expansive digital archive.



The New York Philharmonic seeks a full time Customer Relations Representative. The Customer Relations team provides exemplary service in person, on line and over the phone to our audiences, frequently going above and beyond to help the customer.



This position will work a Tuesday through Saturday shift, both day and evening hours to accommodate the concert schedule. The ability to work a variable schedule with flexibility to work overtime is needed.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Provide courteous and informative service to our audience: on the phone, in person and online. Must be able to think quickly and communicate clearly for both phone and in person interactions. The ideal candidate should have the capacity to think outside of the box to find solutions in the best interest of the customer.


  • Process phone and mail orders for single ticket and subscription orders accurately and in a fast paced environment. Maintain an organizational system for tracking different offers and business practices.


  • Work with Lincoln Center and Box Office Staff during concerts to provide assistance to subscribers, donors and single ticket buyers.


  • Miscellaneous duties as required.



The ideal candidate will have previous customer service and ticketing experience; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to work independently and handle stressful situations professionally. A college degree is preferred. Proficiency Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required. Knowledge of computerized ticketing, call center operations or box experiences a plus. An enthusiasm for classical music is preferred.
