Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is seeking responsible and enthusiastic applicants for two Assistant Teacher positions. RealArts Summer Camp is a five day a week camp within our Visual and Performing Arts Department, which integrates art performance and art education. This position is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with school-age children in a program emphasizing arts education. S/he will be responsible for supervising children ages 5 – 12 in a variety of group arts and recreational activities. Assistant Teachers will work with a creative team of experienced teachers and must be caring, responsible and attentive, with strong skills working with school-age children. Assistant Teachers will be responsible for creating and implementing games and activities, assisting with meals, supporting Lead Teachers in the classroom, and escorting children to scheduled programming, including arts classes, on-site swimming and field trips.
- Over 18 years old;
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in education, psychology or related field ;
- Previous experience working with school-age children;
- Possess strong interpersonal skills;
- Must be prepared to go in the pool; and
- Love working with youth.
- 35 hours per week
- Monday – Friday
- July 5 – August 17, and 20 hours of in-service training June 26-29
