Equal Justice Under Law is an innovative and progressive non-profit civil rights organization
based in Washington, D.C. Our mission is to fight inequality and protect the rights of the most
underrepresented, impoverished, and marginalized members of our society. Our team of attorneys

Our Office Administrator will work with our team of four attorneys and three non-attorneys. Job
duties will include implementing office policies and the employee handbook, monitoring payroll
and business reports, managing employee benefits, processing employee reimbursements, filing
required business reports with government entities, responding to inquiries from the public,
updating spreadsheets of expenses and revenue, proofreading documents, drafting formal
communications, assisting with organizational communication, coordinating travel arrangements,
maintaining a calendar and contacts, helping with event logistics, and providing general attorney
support, which may include printing, assembling and mailing litigation documents, as well as
assisting attorneys in outreach to potential plaintiffs or witnesses.
The ideal applicant is committed to social justice, hard-working, proactive, highly organized, a
fast learner, able to juggle multiple tasks, and able to work well in a collaborative environment.
Other valued skills include familiarity with PCs and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe
Acrobat Professional, Microsoft Word, cloud-based applications (such as Dropbox), and internet
research. Special consideration will be given to those familiar with litigation software and/or who
have paralegal training. Language skills should be noted and will be considered a plus.

Salary, Benefits, and Logistics
The ideal candidate can commit to working approximately 10am–2pm each weekday. This
position will start as a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) and may grow into a
full-time, fully benefitted position based on quality of work. Salary will be competitive. Start date
is preferred by May 2018. We prefer applicants who can commit for multiple years.
