ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Asian Language Legal Intake Program (ALLIP) provides multi-language toll free helplines that provide vital legal access to low-income limited English-speaking people. We take live calls Monday Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We may provide legal information and advice by phone. In certain cases, we may provide legal assistance or representation.
We are looking for our next Community Legal Advocate to join our team in Los Angeles.
Your day-to-day typically includes:
63% Assist in answering English language helpline calls from low-income. Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) language-speaking individuals with family law matters.
27% Support our clients with legal matters, complete intake screening process, consult with Advancing Justice - LA attorneys and provide in-language counsel and advice over the phone for family law matters, and other legal issues.
10% Perform various duties such as support collaboration with community partner organizations through referrals and service coordination.
The pay range is $19.35/hr - $24.18/hr. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
