  • The Nature Conservancy will not provide support for working visas or residency for this position.
  • This position does require proof of eligibility to work in the United States prior to being hired.

Position Summary

The Paralegal will assist attorneys and other paralegals on the Latin American & Caribbean Legal Team in providing legal services and operational support to advance TNC priorities and appropriately manage risk. Under supervision of a TNC attorney or Senior Paralegal, the Paralegal assists in providing legal services for assigned programs and ensuring that transactions and activities are legally sound and consistent with TNC’s mission, authority, policies, and procedures. The Paralegal also assists with logistical and procedural support assuring proper organization and operational compliance. They will be able to manage the formalities of the contractual process and to effectively articulate basic legal concepts and internal policies and procedures to others.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Associate’s Degree OR equivalent qualifications acquired through coursework and/or relevant work experience.
  • Experience conducting research on the Internet and in other legal resources.
  • Experience with MS Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Fluency in oral and written (1) English and (2) either Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Experience working across cultures.
