Finance Director

Job Summary

SEEC’s Finance Director is a senior level Accounting/ Finance position that will oversee the operations of the Accounting Department that involves supervising accounting staff and coordinating the functions of its different components. This position reports to the CFO and involves a complete understanding of the key components of generating accurate monthly financial statements and procedures related to timely month-end closures. This position also requires strong analytical skills, use of Excel financial modeling and IT proficiency to generate visual financial reports and graphics for internal and external stakeholder.

General Responsibilities:

• Manages and oversees accounting functions for timely and accurate month-end closure and generation of Financial Statements.
• Supervises the agency’s annual and related external and internal financial audits and assist CFO in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness closure for the generation of the agency’s audited Financial Statements and 990s.
• Assists CFO in creating the agency’s annual budget.
• Maintains full integrity of all revenue and expenses functions/activities, ensuring organization policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations are followed.
• Oversees capital assets projects, ensuring organization’s goals are being met.
• Compiles fiscal estimates and prepares fiscal reports as requested.
• Ensures compliance with accounting procedures through observation, supervision, and hands on testing.
• Develops procedures that ensure timely month-end closing and accurate fiscal reports.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• MBA or CPA highly preferred.
• 8 years of management and supervisory experience in finance with a similar organization or with a major CPA firm.
• Working knowledge of Information Technology, budget software, an organization’s applicable financial practices and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of GAP, state and federal rules and regulations.
• Proficient with accounting software, Excel, financial modeling and Power Point presentations. Work experience in ABILA Accounting database highly desirable.
• Excellent managerial skills and ability to evaluate the work of others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
• Excellent financial analytical skills and graphic presentations for fiscal reporting.
