Organization:  Latino U College Access (LUCA), is a growing non-profit organization located in White Plains, NY that transforms lives by making college dreams a reality for students who are the first in their family to attend college. LUCA supports students from college exploration to completion by providing guidance and access to opportunity through education, advocacy, and collaboration. LUCA is committed to advancing educational equity by enhancing the quality and intensity of support that low-income, Latinx students receive to enroll and succeed in college. In just 9 years, LUCA’s comprehensive models have reached over 6,000 families and students with information and resources about college admissions, financial aid, college success, and career readiness. 

Position: LUCA is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to join our leadership team in this newly created role. This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual with proven team management experience to support the future growth of LUCA’s signature programs. The successful candidate will lead all programs, partner with the Executive Director, and work collaboratively with the high-performing LUCA team to deliver the organization’s mission. This experienced Director will provide leadership for 4-6 staff members, several interns, and work closely with the Director of Advancement to deliver programs that meet needs of new and existing corporate partners.

Reports to:  Executive Director             Status: Full-Time, Exempt 

Key Responsibilities

Program Management and Partner Relationships

  • Lead LUCA’s Program Team to deliver outstanding programmatic deliverables
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with education, community, and corporate partners
  • Maintain program records in conformance to agency policy and grant funder directives
  • Support the Executive Director in program assessments and evaluation for program improvements
  • Assist the Director of Advancement with grant proposals and required grant reports to funders 
  • Identify and develop new programs, and enhance existing program components to achieve goals
  • Build thought leadership in emerging practice areas in College Access and College Success
  • Represent LUCA in industry conferences, professional associations, and other public venues
  • Actively participate in team knowledge sharing, program reporting, and communications

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Graduate degree in management, education, or related fields preferred
  • 10+ years of non-profit experience preferred; with at least 3+ years required in a team management role
  • Bilingual Spanish / English preferred to successfully communicate and deliver program content to families 
  • Demonstrated success developing, evaluating, and operationalizing innovative programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident presenter both in person and virtually
  • Proven Project Manager; able to monitor workflow independently, and meet multiple goals and deadlines
  • Experienced in recruiting, developing, and retaining teams, empowering them to elevate performance
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented; abie to multitask and nimbly handle changing priorities 
  • Strong Collaborator; excited to engage community members, corporate partners, and school leaders
  • Ability to work well with diverse constituents from high school students to corporate executives 
  • Exceptional problem-solver, self-starter; quick learner, and able to work independently
  • Experienced collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data for program improvement and decision making
  • Passion for educational opportunity and equity for underrepresented youth
  • Mastery of technology; including Google Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM databases (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Flexibility to deliver programming during evenings or weekends as needed and required 
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for LUCA’s mission
  • Valid Driver’s License; reliable transportation to work in White Plains and deliver community programs
