World Monuments Fund (WMF) seeks a qualified professional for the role of Grants Administrator to contribute to our global, creative, and inclusive organization. The Grants Administrator supports and reports to the Director of Institutional Giving.


The Grants Administrator will help sustain and grow the organization’s institutional portfolio (government, foundation, and corporate), with particular focus on government funders. Major areas of responsibility include: drafting and proofreading written materials; maintaining the institutional giving calendar; recording information in the development database; and conducting prospect research. Specific tasks include:


  • Draft grant reports, grant proposals, pitch decks, funder presentations, cover letters, funding inquiries, acknowledgment letters, email and other correspondence; proofread materials prepared by Director of Institutional Giving and other development team members
  • Monitor and update institutional giving calendar, planning ahead and ensuring adherence to deadlines for applications and reports
  • Work collaboratively with WMF staff (programs, finance, communications, etc.) to gather information and materials for proposals, funder updates, and grant reports and to ensure grant compliance and delivery of expected grant outcomes
  • Assist in the preparation of grant budgets and financial reporting
  • Assist with the stewardship of existing institutional funders and suggest meaningful ways for them to engage with the work of WMF
  • Research and build pipelines of prospective funders, matching their interests with WMF’s mission and strategic vision to support our highest priorities
  • Prepare background research and other materials for senior leadership in preparation for donor/prospect meetings
  •  Maintain orderly, centralized, and current files and records of key institutional giving materials
  • Use Raisers Edge database to enter action items and funder correspondence; track application and report deadlines; monitor stewardship activities; and create reports in conjunction with the Database Administrator
  • Other responsibilities as agreed upon


We envision this as a growth-oriented position to eventually assist with developing and implementing high-level fundraising strategies to increase giving from foundations, corporations, and government agencies; cultivate new funders; and expand our global fundraising reach.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree; Major in English, Art History, Architecture, International Relations, History, or other relevant area preferred
  • 3–4 years of experience in institutional (government, foundation, and/or corporate) fundraising, grant writing, and prospect research


Skills

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well with colleagues at all organizational levels
  • Experience in researching and preparing successful proposals for foundations, corporate, and particularly government funders
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, with a demonstrated ability to manage and track multiple priorities and projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and report information succinctly
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiencies in Microsoft Office Suite; general database knowledge required, familiarity with Raisers Edge a plus
