JFCS in Teaneck NJ is seeking to fill an amazing VISTA position: Volunteer position with robust stipend


Jewish Family & Children's Services of Northern New Jersey (JFCS) is headquartered in Teaneck, NJ with offices in Fair Lawn and Wayne, NJ. JFCS is a non-profit organization providing the community with a wide array of professional social services including: information & referral, clinical services, employment services, senior care, after-school programs, aid and advocacy and emergency financial assistance.

Americorps VISTA has granted this VISTA member position for JFCS beginning this summer (2018). This full time position will be for a minimum of one year, and may be renewed for an additional one-two years.

During off-hours, VISTA members can attendance school and hold another job; car recommended. References will be contacted and a criminal background check will be performed.


Fundraising is ultimately what builds and supports the philanthropic services we provide to the community. Be an integral member of the development team @ JFCS and help to further build our programs and services.

Description: The Administration/Fundraising VISTA member will have the opportunity to research foundation prospects, cultivate connections and write foundation grant proposals. On a macro level, you will also be involved in creating systems and practices that advance the full implementation of our new comprehensive fund development plan. In concert with executive staff, the Development team works to create, maintain and expand fundraising initiatives so that we can offer a wide variety of programs and services to our community.

Service Areas: Community Outreach, Community and Economic Development               

Skills:  VISTA Candidates need to have very strong computers/technology and communication skills. Additionally, exposure to/experience in any of the following areas is a big plus for this role: Non-Profit Management, Social Services, Writing & Editing, Business, Community Organization, Fund-raising/Grant Writing
