Womankind uses the multidimensionality of our Asian heritage to work alongside survivors of gender-based violence as they build a path to healing. We are working tirelessly to create a future where we Rise Above Violence and our communities can innovate towards collective well-being, restoration, and social justice. In addition to promoting healing and safety through service provision, Womankind promotes gender justice through research, coalition building, policy analysis, and community education and mobilization.

The Operations Associate is a position within Womankind that plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations at the community sites. This position works with community programs leadership and the Operations team to address site operational concerns as well as identify opportunities for improvement. The Associate will perform facility management, clerical and administrative tasks.

This role’s effectiveness is tied to having strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a highly organized and proactive workstyle.


Primary Responsibilities:

Facility Management (50%)

  • Ensure site(s) are running and upkept based on organizational standards
  • Keep facilities management guide up to date, adding, deleting or changing content
  • Communicates with vendors to ensure proper maintenance of the site(s)
  • Research, organize and present information on new vendors as needed
  • Address repair needs in a timely manner and document/communicate the progress
  • Travel to each of the 3 sites at least 1x per week to address routine needs
  • Ensure the site(s) are clean and prepped for upcoming events, meetings etc.

Operational Support (30%)

  • Support site manager with making site and program purchases as required
  • Provides real time operational assistance to site/org colleagues
  • Monitor and track inventory for site machinery, furniture and programmatic supplies
  • Communicate opportunities for improvement of operational processes

Administrative (10%)

  • Attend team site mtgs and actively contribute to the collaboration of work projects happening within the site

Professional Development (10%)

  • Attend trainings (internal and external) to build capacity and knowledge on work with client community and maintaining trauma-informed work spaces

Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership across teams to build collaborative work environment

Qualifications:

  • Deep commitment to Womankind’s mission
  • Survivors of Gender-based Violence are encouraged to apply
  • Associates or Bachelors in business,
  • Creative thinker; highly organized; self-starter personality, highly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high level results.
  • Ability to exhibit a personal responsibility and commitment to work, follow-through, and accountability
  • Ability to problem solve and exhibit a positive attitude while dealing with challenges
  • Humility and openness in approach to the work
  • Proficiency with computers, e-mail, and word processing
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds
  • Able to travel to multiple sites across New York City

Schedule:

  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9am – 5pm
