Summary

The Student Success Coordinator is responsible for providing supportive and employment services to participants of Philadelphia OIC’s Adult Workforce Development Programs. Specifically, the Student Success Coordinator develops and maintains relationships with internal and external referral resources and employment partnerships to support participants with their job search and career readiness goals throughout their program training. The Student Success Coordinator also provides connections to resources that will reduce barriers to securing employment opportunities that lead to a livable wage.


Duties & Responsibilities:

·      Conducts workshops and one-on one-meetings with participants to provide mock interviews, support in the creation of digital resumes, employment needs assessments, and online job search support.

·      Supports the orientation and enrollment of participants by monitoring participants attendance activities throughout program and maintain up to date records of active, withdrawn or terminated participants.

·      Represents agency in work groups that support learning and sharing about employment opportunities, participating in events such as webinars, committees, and job fairs.  

·      Administer pre-employment and career readiness assessments and assist participants with creation and/or update of job search documents, including but not limited to aligning resumes to reflect skills gained from program training and keywords development for online job applications.

·      Actively work with participants to identify barriers to employment and find resource referral connections to support the needs of the participants.

·      Assists Workforce Development Manager in the development and implementation of retention strategies.

·      Collects, supports, and maintains data that reflects participant completion status and maintain an active graduate and/or alumni community for communicating volunteer and employment opportunities.

·      Verifies participant employment with employers and record information on Employment Verification forms. Collect and document employment placement information from participants for job placement, earning scale, and retention purposes.  

·      Fosters and communicates job leads for adult learners on a regular basis with participants and alumni via an established newsletter and or regular email communication.

·      Manages and maintains current employer related partnerships within Philadelphia OIC and garner new employer partnerships with employers, especially in areas relative to programmatic educational and vocational trainings.

·      Provide support to day-to-day operations as needed.

·      Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Skills

·      Associate degree required; Bachelor Degree preferred in Business, Public Administration, or a related field with skilled knowledge.

·      1-2 years Non-profit / Social Services experience preferred.

·      Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.

·      Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

·      Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software

·      Outstanding leadership and organizational skills

·      Excellent communication skills both written and oral

·      Excellent problem-solving ability
