Job Summary

The Director of Family Services is responsible for ensuring that a high level of service is provided to all children and families residing in our three residential programs for families experiencing homelessness and participating in our Community Stabilization program. This position has overall responsibility for creating a family focused, trauma informed, strength based environment facilitating our families' successful transition from a residential program to independent housing. This is done through the oversite and supervision of a management team, case managers, shift staff, and the coordination of supportive programming, fundraising, inter and intra agency collaboration and evaluation.


Responsibilities and Duties

-Oversee the Family Services Branch including the Family Life Center, David Jon Louison Family Center, Bolton Place and the YMCA Rapid Re-Housing Program.

-Recruitment, supervision, training and evaluation for all Family Services personnel and includes the direct supervision and oversite of three Assistant Directors, and the three sites.

-The Director will develop and manage the budgets for all Family Services program departments, and be responsible for monthly statistical, financial and tracking reports.

-Directly oversee all building operations maintaining safety and regulatory standards to ensure safety and well-being of families residing within the YMCA Family Services Branch

-Maintain communication with DHCD, HUD, and other state and federal agencies, schools and other human service agencies to include: Intake and assessment, referrals to other human service agencies, coordination of services, and family focused care.

-Ensure proper coordination and relationships with landlords, housing developers, and Regional Housing entities to provide effective services in Rapid Re-Housing and community programs-

-Effectively communicate with all funders: local, state, federal and private

-Coordinate relationships/partnerships with outside community groups including schools, colleges, agencies and organizations

-Serve on community collaboratives, regional networks, and committees.


Qualifications and Skills

-Bachelors Degree in related field; Masters Degree preferred

-10 years direct human service experience

- A minimum of three years of supervisory/management experience required

-Must be able to sit, stand, walk during the work day

·Must be able to drive as a part of position,needs to provide proof of car insurance, driving record & drug screen
