Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program
for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills and social-emotional learning through a youth
development curriculum that includes dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The
program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a
celebratory 5K running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through
accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness. Girls on the Run of
the Greater Chesapeake (GOTRGC) serves girls in schools and community centers across Anne
Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Calvert, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot Counties.

Position Profile
The Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake Marketing & Program Coordinator must possess a
passion for and commitment to improving the lives and opportunities of girls in third through
eighth grades.
The Marketing & Program Coordinator reports to the Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake
Executive Director. The Marketing & Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all of the
Girls on the Run programs and volunteers, responsible for developing and executing marketing
and communications strategies that expand and diversify the council’s participant and volunteer
base, and increase stakeholder engagement.
Some of the key responsibilities falling within these areas include:
Program Outreach and Site Coordination
• Implement the Girls on the Run strategic program plan and achieve program goals with
respect to the number of girls, number of sites, and demographic requirements
• Market Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake program to potential new sites
• Work with community leaders, schools, and other groups to maximize Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake success
• Coordinate all new and existing sites
• Enforce all current site policies and procedures and generate innovation and improvement
as needed
Coach Coordination and Training
• Ensure all program sites are staffed with qualified volunteer coaches
• Manage all aspects of coach training, including Girls on the Run training, CPR & First Aid,
and background checks
• Enforce all current coaching policies and procedures and generate continuous
improvement
Marketing
• Manage marketing resources provided by Girls on the Run International
• Create an annual communications calendar in collaboration with other staff
• Craft and schedule social media content including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Coaches
Facebook Group, and Instagram
• Create weekly coach newsletters
• Oversee the website content and updates
• Maintain a library of compelling stories, testimonials, and photos to support storytelling
• Attend community events on behalf of the organization to raise awareness of the
organization
General Responsibilities
• Play a key role in the preparation and implementation of the fall and spring end-of-season 5K
events
• Data collection & information management of rosters, girls, numbers & revenue
• Manage all coach files, sites files, and other program-related data
• Cultivate positive relationships with volunteers, community, and staff
• Other duties deemed necessary by the Council Director.
Required Qualifications
• BA or BS degree
• Passion for the Girls on the Run mission-centric work and alignment with Girls on the Run
core values
• Experience in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
• Education or work experience in youth development and/or nonprofits
• Solid time management and organizational skills
• Strong sense of integrity
• Experience in recruiting and supporting volunteers
• A sales and customer service-oriented mindset; motivated by achieving targeted goals and
fulfilling objectives
• Readiness to embrace the work of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access
• Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences
(internal and external)
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make efficient decisions
• Flexible and adaptable
Preferred Qualifications
• Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus
• A well-developed set of “people person” skills
• Creative and flexible approach to problem-solving
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workplace, and general comfort with learning new
software
• Ability to work independently, yet know when to seek help
• Reliable transportation
