Raw Art Works (RAW) was founded in 1988 with a group of passionate art therapists who shared the belief that good things happen when kids feel they are a vital part of a creative community that truly cares. RAW strives to ensure that youth and staff are welcomed into a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment the moment they step through the door. Through the use of the arts, youth are given the tools to process what is really going on in their lives, giving them the opportunity to create in unexpected ways, and envision new possibilities for their future. The strong relationships youth form with RAW peers and staff, as well as RAW’s culture and program model, contribute to a strong sense of safety, connection, and support.

RAW’s mission is to ignite the desire to create and confidence to succeed in underserved youth. As a creative youth development organization rooted in art therapy, over 300 youth, ages 8-19, participate in after-school and summer visual and expressive arts groups, digital film school classes, leadership development opportunities, and college and career access programming. When youth attend RAW, they are seen and heard through a refined blend of art and therapy. Staff trained in trauma-informed care offer grounding for youth who have experienced serious adverse childhood experiences.

RAW staff have helped to lead the creative youth development movement since its inception, establishing RAW as an organization that is recognized and respected for its program impact at a national level.

About the Opportunity:  Program Manager 

Raw Art Works is seeking a well-rounded Program Manager to join the team. 

This full-time position requires an experienced Program Manager to provide facilitation and management in outreach, enrollment, evaluations, data gathering & assessment, program operations, and RAW-wide initiatives. This position supports the Program Director in their efforts to lead RAW’s program team. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills including a warm, welcoming manner, patience, and a strong desire to support staff and youth. Candidates should also be detail oriented. This position reports directly to the Program Director. 

The Program Manager will show a demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice, and will embrace the importance of these initiatives throughout the organization.  They will be able to demonstrate emotional intelligence, feedback skills, and the ability to sustain trusted relationships with a wide array of people, including strong communication skills.  

Roles and Responsibilities

Evaluation quality Assurance & Management:

• Support the Program Director with youth evaluations, including the creation, administration, and analysis of results. 
• Generate reports for staff, funders, and board in the form of regular outputs. 
• Manage and update databases. 
• Effectively uses the Salesforce database and other tools for tracking youth metrics & data related to youth development.
• Create processes, design workflows, and provide custom solutions for specific program needs.

Program enrollment:

• Field inquiries of those interested in RAW, including schools, organizations, and parents of youth. 
• Track youth enrollment, process applications, and manage the waitlist. 
• Build meaningful relationships with families & students. 
• Work with staff to maintain strong communication with students and families.
• Evaluate and establish enrollment processes to streamline admissions & ensure that RAW provides a positive user experience to all families and RAW participants while maximizing efficiency and effectiveness. 
• Support recruitment strategies and outreach efforts. 

Administrative Tasks: 

• Manage operations for programmatic systems, processes, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities of improvement or revision.
• Assist programs in the capacity that they require: Administrative, database management, etc.
• Assist in the planning and execution of RAW related events. 
• Develop marketing and promotional materials for programming, in conjunction with the Marketing Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Excellent interpersonal skills and embraces cross-cultural values. Ability to show understanding and patience when dealing with staff and the public.
• High level of proficiency with database management, such as Salesforce Lightning.
• Excellent word processing and spreadsheet with Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
• Excellent oral, written, and artistic communication skills. Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Exceptional level of personal organization, with strong project/process planning skills. Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Able to handle multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
• We are looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm, and commitment, who holds themselves to a high standard of professionalism.  
• This position requires handling sensitive youth data, hence the candidate must maintain confidentiality.
• Detail-oriented.
• Flexibility and willingness to occasionally work outside of regular hours.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Fluency in a language other than English, especially Spanish, Vietnamese, or Khmer, is highly desired.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is targeted at $65,000-$72,000 based on the candidate’s relevant experience.  This range falls within our established salary bands for this position.
