Reports to Slow Food Nations Event Director

Compensation: $35,000-$45,000 annually

Slow Food Nations is an annual festival hosted by Slow Food USA in Denver, Colorado. This gathering brings over 20,000 visitors together in downtown Denver for a weekend of flavor, culture, and exploration. The sponsors and partners who support Slow Food Nations build the foundation for a free festival that celebrates good, clean and fair food. They are committed to shaping the future of food, engaging the public, and creating the festival’s energy and excitement. Partnerships are one of the key strategic pillars for Slow Food, and we value long-standing relationships with like-minded companies and organizations. We seek a Sponsorship Coordinator for Slow Food Nations 2019, which is an independent contractor role.

Scope of Work

The Sponsorship & Partnership Coordinator is responsible for supporting relationships and fulfilling agreements related to donors, sponsorships and partnerships for the Slow Food Nations festival. The coordinator reports directly to the Event Director, and also works closely with the Director of Communications and other team members. Primary responsibilities include documenting agreements, managing sponsor/partner benefits, overseeing festival activations, and assisting with relationship management. Additional responsibilities include organizing VIP events, managing the sponsor lounge, maintaining internal tracking and completing sponsorship reporting.

Position responsibilities include:

Sponsorship + Partnership Coordination

  • Participate in sponsorship meetings and capture detailed notes and action items
  • Create and track sponsorship agreements
  • Oversee onsite sponsor activations, sponsor marketing + promotional benefits, complimentary ticket allocation, signage/logo placement, and hospitality support as outlined in sponsor agreements
  • Liaise with Event Production, Event Operations and Communications teams to make sure all sponsor commitments are completed
  • Check-in in regularly with sponsors to maintain a positive, professional and high-touch relationship
  • Plan and organize the Sponsor VIP lounge on Larimer Square, including check-in process, staffing needs, and venue details
  • Organize sponsorship credentials
  • Create template for sponsor summary reports, identifying key information to capture during the festival
  • Create sponsor summary reports and follow up post-festival
  • Manage sponsor records and information in Salesforce
  • Secure, manage and track in-kind sponsorships
  • Support fulfillment of sponsor + partner agreements that fall outside of direct Slow Food Nations activities
  • Provide general support of Event Director for sponsorship management
  • Communicate regularly with Event Director to keep her apprised of overall status for sponsor commitments and relationship status
  • Work with Event Director to handle any issues that arise

Special Events and Other

  • Support Friends of Slow Food Nations campaign
  • Coordinate VIP events, related to Slow Food Nations or other partnerships
  • Manage outreach to Donor Circle - help to coordinate cultivation events, provide high-touch communication with donors


  • Excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, while handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work closely with all kinds of different people — a positive team player, able to recognize when people need help and willing to jump in with a smile
  • Experience with managing strategic relationships with a professional demeanor and hospitality focus
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience with G Suite
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and a sense of humor in a rapidly moving, dynamic environment

In addition to the above qualifications, the ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience with activating brands and organizations at festivals and events
  • Self-motivation and ability to learn quickly
  • Spanish speaking skills
  • Experience with Airtable and Salesforce
  • A shared passion and commitment to Slow Food values
