POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Seedco is a national nonprofit organization that advances economic opportunity for people, businesses and communities in need. The program assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to Seedco’s New York programs. This includes supporting the daily operations of multiple programs with the majority of their time spent supporting the Strong Fathers, Stronger Families (SFSF) program. The program assistant will work closely with senior leadership and the management team to ensure programs run efficiently. The program assistant should be familiar with Salesforce or similar databases and be able to acquire a Salesforce Administrator License within six months of hire (this will be arranged by Seedco).


Since 2011, Seedco has operated SFSF since 2011. Funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Family Assistance (OFA), SFSF helps low-income fathers in New York City enter and succeed in the workforce while developing closer relationships with their children, partners, and co-parents.


Seedco is an affiliate of The Acacia Network, the leading Latino integrated care nonprofit in the nation, offering the community, from children to seniors, a pathway to behavioral and primary healthcare, housing, and empowerment. 


KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  1. Provide day-to-day assistance and data quality support to the director of New York programs and the Strong Fathers, Stronger Families (SFSF) program associate;
  2. Track, monitor and follow-up on progress of projects and action items for leadership in a tactful and timely manner;
  3. Coordinate and help facilitate professional development trainings for program staff;
  4. Conduct monthly site visits to program sites alongside the program associate to ensure site compliance with program guidelines;
  5. Support program’s quality assurance efforts by closely monitoring and managing database/ providing technical assistance to staff on best practices for handling and entering data
  6. Coordinate submission of data from all program partners and assist SFSF program associate and director of New York programs in compiling information for program reports, presentations, etc;
  7. Assist in the development of projections, budgets, and other quantitative reports through collection of program performance data;
  8. Manage order and distribution of incentives and transportation assistance;
  9. Manage room reservations and organization-wide calendar invitations;
  10. Attend meetings and trainings as indicated by the director of the New York programs;
  11. Process required forms and documentation for payment requests and track program expenses
  12. Provide coverage to the front desk at 22 Cortlandt Street for a minimum of one hour each day, Monday through Friday
  13. Any other related task as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS


  1. High school diploma or equivalency diploma and a bachelor’s degree or 5 years of related experience
  2. Strong verbal, written and communication skills;
  3. Must be willing to train and receive Salesforce administrator certification if not already completed;
  4. Must possess computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  5. Must have the ability to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects;
  6. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of individuals;
  7. Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  8. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
  9. The ability to analyze, summarize, and effectively present professionally;
  10. Must be organized and detail oriented;
  11. Must have the ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure; and
  12. Must be able to work well in both team setting and individually.


Preferred Qualifications:


  1. Salesforce administrator certification
  2. Experience with data entry
  3. Experience working in nonprofits


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT


This position requires travel at least twice a month around New York City.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED


This position will be supervised by the SFSF program associate and the director of New York programs.
