Director of Operations

Job Overview: 

StreetWise Partners is a non-profit organization seeking an experienced, systemic thinker to serve as its  part-time Director of Operations. The Director is tasked with a 20 hour work week. This is a senior level  position that works closely with an executive team of four to support organizational operations with a  focus on finance, human resources, technology and systems improvement.

This is a part-time position in New York City and reports to the Executive Director. The role is currently  virtual but will return to in-person in the future.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Employee Hiring, Onboarding, Off-boarding 

• Collaborate with the senior team to create employee recruitment plans based on  organization’s needs. 
• Manage recruitment sourcing; serve as the liaison for employment candidates and  manage interview scheduling. 
• Conduct employee background checks and draft employment offer letters. o Oversee onboarding process; create logins and passwords, assign hardware and  software, train on organizational systems. 
• Oversee off-boarding process including shut-down of email, transfer of software  credentials and return of hardware. 
• Maintain and regularly update Employee Onboarding Manual. 

• Employment Management & Support 

• Drive the embodiment and implementation of the organization’s core values and  guiding principles; ensure that the organization fosters a diverse and inclusive  workspace. 
• Review and update human resource policies and practices based on a D&I framework;  maintain and update Employment Manual. 
• Manage annual review process, including templates and timelines. 

• Benefits 

• Manage PEO relationship; handle annual contracting and benefit renewals. o Oversee the organization’s 403B plan; liaison with investment managers. o Monitor the quarterly report submission and payment of invoices by PEO to the states  in which the organization operates. 

• I/T Management 

• Serve as primary contact to outsourced I/T support provider; troubleshoot challenges. o Support software licensing purchases and renewals; support all hardware purchases. o Provide solutions to short and long-term program service delivery infrastructure needs. • Office Management 
• Manage fluctuating office space needs in each region and identify short and long-term  solutions; maintain relationships with landlords, including initiating timely lease  renewals. 
• Manage post-covid return to work protocols and processes; support compliance with  federal and state labor law. 
• Research and order office supplies as needed. 

• Insurance 

• Manage the annual renewal process for commercial, commercial liability, director &  officers’ insurance. 
• Serve as the liaison between staff and the insurance agency for Certificates of Insurance  requested by funders or needed for special events. 

• Salesforce Management 

• Manage the outsourced SF Administrator. 
• Project manage the roll out of Salesforce enhancements for the program and  development teams; maintain and update the Salesforce user manual. 

• Financial Management Support 

• Support the bookkeeper with information needed to process monthly accounts  receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation. 
• Lead the audit preparation process.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and Outsourced Bookkeeper to create the  annual budget workbook. 
• Provide high level financial analysis.

For over 20 years, StreetWise Partners has driven economic and career success for adults from  overlooked and under-resourced communities. StreetWise Partners’ one-year mentoring program  provides customized, individualized mentorship for internship and job seekers while helping them  establish an expansive professional network made up of hundreds of advocates who open doors and  support long term career success. StreetWise Partners launched its first program in New York City in  1997, expanded to Washington D.C. in 2006 and to Detroit in 2019. Since inception, StreetWise Partners  has served 7,000 mentees through the support of 12,000 mentors.
