The Canadian Encyclopedia is a free, bilingual online resource of over 20,000 fact-checked articles and learning tools about Canada’s history and culture. The Bilingual Subject Editor (French/English) for The Canadian Encyclopedia will be a generalist, an individual who is passionate about the work of Historica Canada, has had experience working with a team to achieve deliverables in a timely fashion, and is enthusiastic about creating a legacy for all Canadians. The successful candidate is creative, driven and connected with like-minded organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
The responsibilities of the Bilingual Subject Editor include:
Qualifications:
· A degree in Diaspora Studies, Political Science, History or related discipline, Journalism, or equivalent;
· Knowledge of diverse subjects, Canadian history and current events: please state any areas of specialization;
This is a contract position beginning March 8, 2021 and ends on March 31, 2022, with the opportunity for extension. The annual salary is $50,000 less applicable statutory deductions.

This position is based at Historica Canada’s Head Office in Toronto. However, qualified distance candidates will be considered.
This position may require travel (air and ground) within Canada and subject to government safety protocols.
