    Description

    Jacobin is a leading voice of the American left, offering socialist perspectives on politics, economics, and culture. The print magazine is released quarterly and reaches 75,000 subscribers, in addition to a web audience of over 3,000,000 a month.

    The advertisement and operations manager at Jacobin will oversee advertising, liaise with vendors, and manage accounts payable. Additional responsibilities include compliance and HR. The position is full-time with benefits.

    The applicant should be detail-oriented, organized, and have strong verbal communication skills.

    Objectives of the Role

    • Manage existing advertising clients and bring in new clients for the Jacobin website, email newsletters, print magazine, and podcasts.
    • Oversee accounts payable for the magazine, liaise as necessary with Jacobin's accountant.
    • Assist in office, personnel, and human resources needs for Jacobin Foundation employees.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years’ experience in sales or human resources.
    • Excellent ability to communicate and negotiate with others.
    • Commitment to democratic socialist politics.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Background in media, particularly print media.
    • Experience with Quickbooks or other invoicing software.
    • Experience working self-directed as a part of a small team.
    • Background with Salesforce or other comparable CRMs.
