Make an impact on families and prevent child abuse and neglect:  SCAN's Family Programs offer a safe space to talk through parenting challenges and strengthen positive and healthy parenting habits. We are seeking a candidate who wants to make an impact by providing administrative assistance, including participant enrollment and communications, training coordination, and production and logistical support.  

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Conducts intake and follow-up communications with prospective and enrolled participants. 
  • Provides participant management, database and record keeping support. 
  • Ensures the timeliness of all data submission and reporting. 
  • Manages family group programs calendar and ensures adherence of training and follow up times and schedules. 
  • Provides pre-program logistical support. 
  • Provides in-training production and logistical support. 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities 

  • Fluent in Spanish and English, with strong verbal and written communications skills, required. 
  • 3+ years of office administration experience, in a nonprofit setting preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a variety of virtual platforms, including Zoom, Google, and WebEx. 
  • Highly organize and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and independently, while balancing competing priorities 
  • Appreciation for and ability to capitalize on diversity; cultural sensitivity, and ability to engage and support diverse cultural and socioeconomic communities. 
  • Able to identify conflicts and address them through positive conflict resolution strategies.  

Working conditions 

  • Must be available to work in Northern Virginia.  
  • Must be available some evenings during program implementation season. 
  • Working in virtual, office, community and classroom conditions.   
  • The position requires a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel throughout Northern Virginia. 
  • Candidate must understand and demonstrate commitment to maintaining the confidential nature of client information.  
  • Remote and in-person work required.

 Special requirements 

  • The candidate must be comfortable discussing sensitive issues including child sexual abuse.  
  • The candidate must understand and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining the confidential nature of client information.  
  • All employees of SCAN must also consent to criminal and child protective services background checks. 
  • Pursuant to the SCAN's COVID-19 mitigation protocols, individuals must be fully vaccinated upon commencing employment, subject to legally required.
