About College Scholars

SEO Scholars is a free eight-year academic program that gets low-income public high school students to and through college. In college, we continue to support students through each of their four years, providing one-on-one academic, personal and career exploration support. Position Overview & Responsibilities

The Data Assistant provides technical support to the College Scholars department operational functions. The Data Assistant will provide primary support with the transcript collection process twice a year, and the college clustering project each summer. This role will also provide secondary support to other initiatives such as assisting with virtual event logistics, tracking scholarship payments, and data cleanup with other tasks and projects assigned as needed. A successful Data Assistant will approach their tasks with confidence and curiosity, think ahead to anticipate needs, and address challenges with drive and resourcefulness.

 

  • Maintain confidentiality of information exposed to during data entry regarding students
  • Prepare school clustering for incoming cohorts
  • Assist with the timely collection, tracking, and processing of student transcripts and GPA stipend data in Salesforce
  • Collaborate with other teams to transfer data efficiently
  • Assist with preparation and execution of virtual event logistics
  • Organize and clean up historical student data and prepare for import into Salesforce
  • Track and input scholarship disbursements in Salesforce
  • Utilize Salesforce systems, and additional technology platforms such as Zoom, Typeform, DocuSign, Google apps, among others
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in IT, computer science, math or a similar background
  • Experience in maintaining accurate records and tracking projects with multiple tasks and phases
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized approach to tasks while able to meet competing deadlines
  • Exceptionalcommunication skills: verbal, written, interpersonal (phone and in-person)
  • Excellent critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive
  • Must be data driven, familiarity with Salesforce a plus
