About the Seattle Aquarium: The Seattle Aquarium is owned by the City of Seattle and is under nonprofit management. The Aquarium currently serves over 850,000 visitors and 40,000 schoolchildren and their teachers annually. Guided by its mission of Inspiring Conservation of Our Marine Environment, the Seattle Aquarium has a realistic plan for phased growth based on record-setting attendance, membership and fundraising growth, an energized board of directors and professional management. The current annual budget is $18 million.
The Seattle Aquarium events team is looking for their newest team member! The event production associate will work with the special projects coordinator on the execution and fulfillment of daytime special events and promotions. Interacting with and collaborating across teams, the event production associate will assist with all aspects of event production to ensure the Seattle Aquarium events and promotions meet the expectations of our guests and stakeholders. A successful candidate will be a natural problem solver who can anticipate event operations in order to keep the event schedule with the highest customer service.
Ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience with event production and possess excellent time/project management skills, great people skills, a remarkable attention to detail and a flare for follow-through. They will be a natural collaborator and problem solver with excellent communication skills and composure when faced with difficult or demanding situations. Comfort with computer tools and programs (especially Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel) is important. Experience with audio visual equipment such as microphones, PowerPoint and projects is preferred.

Salary and benefits: $16.50–$18 per hour, depending on experience—please include salary expectations in your materials. Part time staff are eligible for Seattle Aquarium’s part time benefits package which includes: medical, vision, employer funded Health Reimbursement Account, Flexible Spending Account, access to a subsidized ORCA pass and paid sick time.
