The National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) seeks an experienced Major Gifts & Events Manager to work with NCTE’s Development Director and Development team to manage and implement the organization's major gifts and special events fundraising strategies. The Major Gifts & Events Manager will develop and execute strategies to steward, retain, and upgrade donors within the major gifts and Capital Club portfolios, as well as cultivate new donor relationships. Additionally, the Major Gifts & Events Manager is responsible for conceptualizing and executing special events and related fundraising efforts, including NCTE’s annual signature event, the Trans Equality Awards, and several smaller, donor events. This position will report to and work closely with the Development Director to ensure ample funds are generated to support NCTE’s mission. This position reports to the Development Director, is a remote position that is based within 4 hours of Washington, DC, and has occasional travel.

NCTE advocates for policy change at federal, state, and local levels and works to increase societal understanding and acceptance of transgender people. Launched in 2017, the National Center for Transgender Equality Action Fund (NCTE Action Fund) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit advocacy organization fighting for transgender equality at the local, state, and federal levels, affiliated with NCTE. The two organizations share office space and staff, including this position.
Duties and Responsibilities

Location and Hours:
This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends. All internal meetings take place between the core hours of 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET, but staff have the flexibility to begin their day earlier (e.g. 8:00 a.m. ET) or end their day later (e.g. 6:30 p.m. ET). NCTE allows for staff to also flex time to maintain a 40-hour work week, in addition to comp time, as appropriate.
The Major Gifts & Events Manager position is remote, but must be located within 4 hours of Washington, DC. This may include the following areas: New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and portions of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Occasional travel will be required. If you are not currently based in the aforementioned region, you must be willing to relocate within three months of the position start date. NCTE offers assistance with relocation expenses.
Salary and Benefits:
The Major Gifts and Events Manager is a full-time, exempt, and union eligible position. For many years, NCTE has maintained high-level benefits and competitive salaries. For this position, the salary range is $60,000-$70,000 with the candidate’s skills and experience determining where they fall in the range. However, for candidates with more than 10 years of experience, salaries above this range may be considered.
