Job Summary: 

The Security Specialist works in the Family Services Department – Residential Services Division. The Security Specialist will be responsible for helping to maintain the safety of all residential clients and staff working at the facilities. The Security Specialist will report to the Director of Residential Services. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the security of the 2 shelter facilities by monitoring surveillance cameras and patrolling the premises on a regular basis;
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the staff and clients working and/or residing at the facilities;
  • Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to staff and clients;
  • Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area;
  • Secure all exits, doors and windows at the end of the their work shift;
  • Completes all paperwork in a timely manner;
  • And other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Department Head

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be 18+ years of age;
  • High School Diploma or GED required;
  • Knowledge of security operations and procedures preferred; and
  • Must be willing to participate in company’s screening process, including drug screen and background investigation

  2. Must have excellent communication skills, including writing; 
  3. Must be able to function within a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic crisis center setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
  4. Must have excellent surveillance and observation skills;
  5. Must show initiative and able to work with little supervision; 
  6. Must have proof of US citizenship or authorization to work, as well as reliable transportation, valid California driver’s license, and proof of state-required insurance.
