The Asian American Civic Association (AACA) provides limited English speaking and economically disadvantaged people with education, occupational training and social services enabling them to realize lasting economic self-sufficiency.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 


The Community Programs Coordinator coordinates community programs and projects as directed by Executive Director. Responsibilities include:


  • Casework, case management and counseling for clients


  • Collaboration with community organizations, businesses, public and private agencies

  • Development and implementation of outreach plans and community education plans

  • Facilitating the Partnership between Greenway Conservancy and AACA

  • Providing educational, clinical and marketing materials and supplies

  • Coordinating agency led meetings for all projects

  • Writes, edits, translates and proofreads articles and reports relating to projects

  • Teaches/leads classes, workshops and groups

  • Prepares reports for partners and funders

  • Supervises volunteers specific to the programs and projects


Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin) and English      

  • Experience and training in working with clients who have addictions

  • Cultural sensitivity to Asian American community


        *    Strong organizational skills and ability to form an effective plan for community,


     education and engagement


     •    Bachelor’s degree in social work, mental health, community organization or


           human services
