Program Coordinator, Older Adults Technology Services

Older Adults Technology Services (OATS), a rapidly expanding New York City based nonprofit organization, seeks a Program Coordinator to support one of the organization’s largest initiatives and training operations. 

Senior Planet, the flagship OATS program, is a membership experience for adults sixty and older who are “aging with attitude.” Senior Planet technology training courses engage participants with digital culture and new technologies, supporting personal growth in five impact areas: social engagement, health & wellness, civic engagement & advocacy, financial security, and creative expression & lifelong learning. 

OATS is also helping to support NYC-based seniors who recently received tablets with a phone hotline, training materials, online classes and tech support setting up their tablet, accessing resources, and other basic situations. This position will provide key support to this major initiative.

The Position 

The Program Coordinator will be a key team member, a leader who is passionate about “Aging with Attitude,” who is excited by the possibilities of technology, who enjoys the perspectives of older people, and who has the energy, creativity, and dedication to make history. The Program Coordinator will help organize training, program logistics, and will manage special projects and inquiries from partners and funders. The Program coordinator also will work closely with the training staff.

Key responsibilities include:

Program Management

  • Manage online class registration
  • Coordinate ordering and delivery of books
  • Coordinate virtual graduation events
  • Manage the distribution of equipment
  • Handle special requests/projects
  • Support ongoing and new training initiatives the organization undertakes

Data Management

  • Using Qualtrics, Salesforce and other CRM/Engagement software to manage program deliverables
  • Managing large data sets with a focus on data hygiene
  • Filtering and cleaning data for distribution

Other 

  • Support day to day program operations as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

The Candidate

In addition to a passion for improving the lives of older adults, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications/characteristics:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field or 4-years related experience
  • A dynamic personality and excellent presentation, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • An affinity for technology and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Sound ability to work with diverse communities in an empathetic, comfortable and non-judgmental manner.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, yet take initiative and work independently.
  • Creative, resourceful and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and meticulous about quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work on the weekend, if needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google apps.

  • Immediately

Salary

  • This is a full-time position, with a salary of $40,000-$45,000/year. OATS offers full-time employees a generous package of leave time (three weeks vacation and ten sick/personal days), health insurance and ancillary benefits, professional development and growth opportunities, and an exciting, collegial work environment.
