Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.

Do you have experience of working in a country or regional team and are you passionate about keeping countries central to OGB’s work?

Do you have great communication and organizing skills, along with a passion for learning?

Are you full of energy and ready for a varied, fast moving and exciting role where you will interact with teams across the breadth of the confederation?

If the answer is yes, then we would like to hear from you.

The Role

Oxfam GB is looking for a Country Relations Broker to join the Country Relations Team.  The Country Relations Broker will be part of the implementation of new ways of working with our country and regional colleagues across the confederation, working to support the Strategic Partnership Countries and Regions and to link, broker and facilitate the relationships between OGB and country based teams.

This is a fast moving and varied position and is at the heart of the work that OGB is doing with country teams and their partners. The role reports to the Country Relations Lead and will be supporting the Country Relations Senior Brokers who are currently focused geographically across Africa, MENA and Asia.  You will have an opportunity to work directly with countries and also to be at the forefront of organisational change in OGB – working towards a decolonized, anti-racist and inclusive way of partnership.

The role has a strong communications and knowledge management element to it and the opportunity to work with the OGB strategic workstreams of RRR, Valuing Women’s Work and Climate Justice.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to the values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do and our feminist principles.

Our next Country Relations Broker will require excellent organizing skills and the ability to work on a variety of different tasks with different teams, often with time pressure. You will enjoy learning about the work that Oxfam does in different countries and have a passion for sharing that learning and helping to link OGB teams and resources to other teams in the confederation.

We are looking for someone who has great communications skills and is keen to use them to make information and knowledge management more accessible and inclusive to different groups. In the partnerships team all the work that we do is embedded in our racial justice framework and intersectionally feminist ways of working.

You must have had experience of working in a country or regional office, or working closely with country teams (in Oxfam or another organization), and you must be fully committed to putting country teams at the centre of what we do as a team, and inspiring others to do the same.

We believe flexible working is key to building the Oxfam of the future, so we’re open to talking through the type of flexible arrangements which might work for you. We think this role would work particularly well as a full-time role with the potential to work up to two days per week from home.

We offer:

The Partnerships Team within OGB Impact Division is a dedicated and passionate group committed to Oxfam’s principles. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the movement to make practical changes based on these principles. The Country Relations Team is a fun and dynamic team as well as extremely rewarding.

We are committed to discussing flexible working arrangements – whether that be from home or working flexible hours (as long as they are practical to allow for connecting with countries). This position would be an excellent step for someone who is interested in really finding out how different teams in Oxfam fit together and work, as we work with so many different people. The role is a level C.

We are open to considering different locations, depending on OGB’s HR procedures (see Job description for more info).

We place a high priority on ensuring that only those who share and demonstrate our values are recruited to work for us.
