Job Description

Friends of the High Line (FHL) is looking for a full-time junior Graphic Designer. If you are a creative, collaborative, passionate, and articulate designer with a strong aesthetic and a keen strategic mind that can take an idea from sketch to execution, let’s chat.



  • Working with senior creative staff to conceptualize, design, and produce the High Line’s branding, marketing, and collateral materials, including our major publications, program calendars, invitations, park signage, website, emails, and more

  • Work with internal and external partners to develop and source appropriate assets, present design drafts, incorporate edits, and prep for production, all on a deadline


  • 3 – 5 years of work experience in graphic design

  • Strong portfolio of work showing a range of abilities across both print and digital
  • A true passion for design
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
  • Ability to empathize with users and design with them in mind
  • Knowledge of brand, typography, and layout
  • Comfort handling a lot of projects at once and getting them done quickly
  • A strong team attitude
  • Willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JS a plus
  • Illustration skills a plus
