Associate Project Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will assist with the following efforts within the Global Operations Finance team’s initiatives:

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist GOF Team Member in monthly and annual closing process, ensuring that deadlines are met as necessary
2. Assist GOF Team Members in compiling regional information and providing support to Finance and Global Health (Field and Emergency Response).
3. Assist GOF Team Members & Manager to initiate new project set-up and various data entry.
4. Assist in processing wires, payments, review of documentation, and reconciliations.
5. Assist with audit and grant compliance as necessary.
6. Oversee the filing for the department, electronically and paper.
7. Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. AS. in Accounting or combined equivalent education and years of experience required.
2. BA. preferred
3. Minimum of 1 years’ experience in general ledger, financial accounting, not-for-profit or government award funding, preferred.
4. Fluent in Spanish and English with the ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, preferred.
5. Must have intermediate level knowledge of Excel (pivot table, look-up),
6. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to work well under pressure, organize and set priorities, meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Physical demands: While international travel is not a regular part of this job position, programmatic needs may require it intermittently. Project HOPE employees may be required to travel or work in countries where working conditions are classified as “hardship.”

• Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee must be mobile in an office environment and able to use standard office equipment and must be able to communicate in verbal and written form.

• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a typical office environment with exposure to a minimal noise level.
