Community Connections for Youth (CCFY), Inc. is a Bronx-based non-profit organization whose mission is to empower grassroots faith and neighborhood organizations to develop effective community-driven alternatives to incarceration for youth. CCFY develops community capacity for juvenile justice reform through a three-pronged approach that includes (1) Demonstration Projects: operating model community-driven alternatives to incarceration for youth in the South Bronx; (2) Research & Development: creating, testing and refining strategies to build community capacity and operationalize justice reinvestment strategies; (3) Training & Technical Assistance: supporting the development of system-community partnerships that transfer resources from justice systems to grassroots faith and neighborhood organizations. CCFY was founded in 2009 and is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The Interim Director of Development will oversee all of CCFY’s development activities while the organization goes through a strategic planning process from October of 2018 through March of 2019. The Interim Director of Development will manage the organization’s current development portfolio of grants, contracts, and individual donors, and will also guide the organization’s shift towards new resource acquisition. The Interim Director of Development will work closely with the Executive Team and the Board Fundraising Committee on designing a new resource acquisition strategy aligned with the organization’s strategic plan. This strategy will include shifting from the current funding strategy, which relies heavily on grants and contracts, to one that prioritizes major gifts, earned income, and the creation of an endowment. The Interim Director of Development will work closely with the Board, the Executive Director, and the staff to cultivate relationships with donors and investors and to coordinate visits and asks. The Interim Director of Development will be responsible for ensuring that all current development activities (grant proposals, grant reports, donor communication) are appropriately carried out. The Interim Director of Development will be primarily responsible for grant writing, drafting proposals and submitting applications to foundations, corporations, and public funding sources. The Interim Director of Development will also be responsible for writing strategic communication for CCFY, including newsletters, organizational reports, web copy, social media, brochures, position papers, and other forms of writing. The Interim Director of Development will maintain both electronic and hard copy files of CCFY’s development activities. The Interim Director of Development may oversee additional development staff and/or consultants who will assist with day-to-day fundraising activities. CCFY is open to creative arrangements that can include consulting or part-time hours for a highly skilled, highly experienced individual.
