Program Description

Interaction Transition (I/T) is a Seattle based non-profit with over 40 years of experience supporting formerly incarcerated people with their successful transition back into the community. I/T’s mission is to support clients' economic stability and benefit community safety.

Interaction Transition is currently seeking a part time (20 hrs/wk) Case Manager (CM) who will assist participants in connecting with community resources and finding employment. The CM will be primarily responsible for:

  • Assessing client needs; advocating for and referring participants to services such as housing programs, legal services, chemical dependency treatment, and counseling services.
  • Creating client-centered plans as part of the intake process
  • Being present during daytime drop in hours for services/conduct intakes and/or set appointments for intakes or other external resources meetings
  • In some instances, accompanying clients to off-site appointments
  • Consistently following up with referral agencies
  • Assisting clients in applying for government / other benefits
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with regional employers; matching clients to appropriate employment opportunities
  • Providing ongoing retention job support to both clients and employers
  • Keeping accurate, detailed case files daily
  • Attending outside provider meetings to keep up with current trends and resources
  • Attending external community advocacy meetings

This position reports to the Executive Director. This position requires someone that has experience in case management and/or workforce development. The ideal candidate will not only be able to work with participants, but will also be able to work with private sector employers in the Seattle metro area. 


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills, mature interpersonal style, ability to interact with a diverse range of people, and strong teamwork skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • A willingness to take initiative and the ability to be flexible while handling increased responsibilities
  • Passion for I/T’s mission and prisoner re-entry work
  • The ability to manage a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously and independently without the assistance of support staff
  • Have lived experience / directly impacted by the criminal justice and incarceration systems
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Word and Excel.
