Full-Time On-Site Position


Overview:

The Development Associate supports the fundraising function and is a contributing member of the Development Team. Responsibilities cover a wide range of activities related to development, including managing the Raiser’s Edge database; ensuring that all gifts are properly recorded and communicated to internal and external stakeholders; facilitating various mailings, coordinating events, and conducting prospect research.


Key responsibilities:

Process gifts, including timely data entry of checks and credit card donations and preparation of acknowledgement letters

  • Reconcile gifts with business office
  • Create and update donor records in Raiser’s Edge database
  • Create and run queries, lists and reports
  • Conduct prospect research on current and potential donors as needed
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of stewardship activities (including birthday and anniversary cards) and events
  • Write thank you notes, follow-up letters, donor profiles and other communications as requested
  • Update donor wall and annual honor roll
  • Support donor cultivation and solicitation efforts, including meeting and donor visit preparation and follow-up
  • Coordination and administrative support for capital campaign

Woman’s Board

  • Provide mailing lists and other information from Raiser’s Edge
  • Prepare mailings
  • Prepare event gift acknowledgment letters and conduct other follow up as needed
  • Provide backup for the liaison to the Woman’s Board as needed

Administrative

  • Provide support to Chief Development Officer
  • Miscellaneous administrative tasks such as meeting preparation, processing purchase orders, ordering supplies
  • Take minutes at meetings as requested
  • Other administrative tasks as requested


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum three years’ experience working in the nonprofit arena
  • Computer and database skills including significant experience with Raiser’s Edge, and all applications in Microsoft Office
  • Highly attentive to detail

  • Able to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Availability to flex work time to serve at planned evening and/or weekend events
