A. Summary Statement
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Community Partnerships this position oversees any events that are run through the CFLS Drop-In Center. These events include, but are not limited to, the Thanksgiving Food Drive, the Holiday Toy Drive, the Summer Book Bash, and the Visible Voices Fundraiser. This position will be tasked with assisting the Assistant Director in cultivating donor partnerships to support this event. This position will also oversee the recruitment of volunteers to assist with events run through the drop-in center. This position will work closely with the Drop-In Center Liaison to operate the Drop-In Center.
B. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In performing the duties and responsibilities of this position the events coordinator will demonstrate adherence to CFLS’ core values through:
Responsibilities
1. Manage the planning and execution of the annual Thanksgiving Food drive and Holiday Toy Drive
2. Manage the planning and execution of the annual Visible Voices Fundraiser
3. Manage the planning and execution of the annual Summer Book Bash
4. Cultivate donor and community connections to assist with CFLS events
5. Recruit CFLS volunteers
6. Assist the Drop-in Center Liaison as needed
7. Communicate with donors to coordinate and receive donations and drop-offs.
8. Ensures donations are logged and donors receive proper documentation of donations.
9. Coordinate with event venues.
10. Track budgets for events and ensure fundraisers are cost effective.
11. Other duties as assigned.
C. Nature of Work
Tasks are varies and moderately complex. Tasks require comparing alternative courses of actions and making a decision after considering the options. Task may require contact with sensitive and confidential information.
D. Collaboration and Interaction
Exchange detailed information or resolve varied problems. Identify needs/concerns pf others, determine potential solutions, resolve or redirect appropriately.
Works closely with the Drop-In Center Liaison and the Assistant Director of Community Partnerships.
E. Oversight and Direction
Receives direction working from established policies and objectives.
F. Minimum Requirements
3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
