Director of RE·Center Consulting Position Overview

The Director RE·Center Consulting is a new position, to be added to our 10-member staff. RE·Center was selected as one of the 'Tenacious 10' nonprofits to participate in a 30-month process to develop an earned income social enterprise, RE·Center Consulting. Through this partnership with the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving's Nonprofit Support Program, we are creating this new program and revenue stream. Income earned from this project will help support our mission to help eliminate the effects of racism in educational settings.

 

The Director of Social Enterprise is responsible for the implementation, management and supervision of RE·Center Consulting in collaboration with the leadership team. The Director will provide consulting and training to organizations that seek to create a positive and inclusive working environment, engage productively with their communities, provide effective services to their diverse customers, and help move society forward toward racial equity and justice. As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Social Enterprise:

·      Participates in strategic program planning and budgeting initiatives

·      Works within the guidelines, policies and mission of the organization and will be accountable and responsible for maintaining a positive and productive work environment

·      Organizes specific projects as assigned.

·      Reports to and works cooperatively with the Executive Director.

Social Enterprise Director Responsibilities


PRINCIPAL DUTIES

·      Provide oversight for all social enterprise operations and lead business development to achieve revenue targets working with the Executive Director

·      Liaise with current and prospective clients to secure consulting and training contracts

·      Work with the others to develop the curriculum and in-house programming related to consulting and race-equity training

·      Ensure the successful delivery of the RE·Center Consulting program

·      Work collaboratively with the leadership team to continually measure the effectiveness of the services and develop new program initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization

·      Review and revise business plans for the social enterprise

·      Responsible for the collection, accuracy, and maintenance of records on the clients/partners of the program

·      Direct, plan, mentor, and coordinate the work of the RE·Center Consulting staff including direction, input, supervision, evaluation, training, and team building

·      Communicate, build relationships, and develop partnership strategies with relevant community stakeholders

Qualifications

·      Five or more years’ experience in racial justice, consulting, social enterprise and/or nonprofit management

·      Understanding of financial planning, budgets

·      Experience developing programs and training

·      Strong project management skills

·      Ability to nurture and support talent in others 

·      Strong networks in philanthropy, nonprofits, business and/or faith communities

·      Able to set strong boundaries around work to ensure consistency, reliability and success

·      Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills

·      Self-starter with strong organizational and delegation skills

·      Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 and other programs

·      Experience with implementation of software systems and systems administration

·      Demonstrated customer service skills

·      Strong business acumen including budget development and oversight, using data to analyze trends, strategic planning

·      Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

·      Ability to work sensitively and effectively with diverse populations.

 ·      This is a full-time, exempt position.

·      Salary: $80,000
