To assist us in meeting our mission, Project Bread – The Walk for Hunger is seeking an Operations Associate to join our team.

Supervisor: Senior Director of Operations

Starting Salary Range: $50,000- $55,000


The Role: The Operations Associate will join the People and Operations team to help ensure our staff can do their best work both in the office and remote, at a Best Places to Work company. The Operations Associate is responsible for ensuring that the Project Bread office runs smoothly and efficiently while also providing administrative support to the People & Operations leadership team. The ideal candidate for this role thrives on supporting others, excels in problem-solving, and is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive, collaborative, efficient, mission-focused workplace.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Office Operations and Admin Support:
  • Maintain general office operations, including ordering and maintaining office supplies. Receiving and processing mail and depositing checks.
  • Coordinate office improvement projects and general property management, in coordination with property management company
  • Coordinate in-office events.
  • Support new hire onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • IT Coordination:
  • Act as liaison with IT service provider.
  • Serve as primary staff contact for basic troubleshooting of office equipment including printers, in-office IT equipment, and video conferencing equipment.
  • Manage technology inventory and company phone system.
  • Administrative support to the People and Operations leadership including special assignments as directed by the COO and the Sr. Director of Operations.


Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Support the annual Walk for Hunger, including working as event staff the weekend of the Walk (first weekend in May), and attending pre-Walk events as assigned.
  • Participate in organization-wide events and meetings.
  • Act to promote, sustain, and grow Project Bread's positive, productive, and inclusive working environment.

  • Prior office, administrative, event planning, or related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to interact positively with all employees, constituents, vendors, etc.
  • Strong IT and problem-solving skills including proficiency and general comfort in a variety of software applications such as Microsoft Office, Asana, and other platforms.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information. 
  • Project management experience with a proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration and willingness to pitch in as needed, while maintaining the ability to work independently. 


Additional Requirements:

  • Working Location: All employees are currently working a hybrid remote and in-office model. The Operations Associate will need to be present in the East Boston office 3 days per week, typically Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires mobility, including moving and lifting items weighing up 25 pounds, such as deliveries, tech equipment, or office equipment. 
  • COVID-19 Vaccine Policy: For the safety and protection of Project Bread Staff & Constituents we do have a COVID-19 Vaccine Policy that requires all staff to be fully vaccinated per the CDC definition. Accommodation requests will be considered through our normal request process.
